Child Safety Week 5th - 11th June 2017

Monday, 5 June 2017 | Sarah Dunne

This week it's Child Safety week and the theme this year is: Safe children: sharing is caring.

Child Safety Week is run by Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented. They provide a range of resources to help practitioners run local activities and events and promote safety messages in a fun and engaging way.

CAPT are asking friends, families, communities and professionals to show they care by playing their part in keeping children safe and sharing their experience and knowledge – not just about the horrors of accidents, but also the really practical, simple things they do to prevent them.

We all have a part to play in sharing the responsibility for preventing accidents among children, and we know that nothing is more powerful than the voice of experience.

The 2017 Child Safety Week Action Pack is full of information for parents, activity ideas, hints and tips for a successful event or session and is free to download from: http://www.childsafetyweek.org.uk/

We (LSCB) have also put a stand together in the atrium of Endeavour House so come and have a look at the information we're sharing to help keep children safe.
